Fall’s 2016 Biggest Trend: Leopard Prints

Hello darlings, it’s been a while, during summer I broke my middle finger, and had a deep cut in my index, all from my right hand, which left me unable to write for a couple of months, but I’m back, and with me, one of my favorite prints: The Leopard one!

Yes, wild animal prints will be all the rage this fall/winter, leopard one being at the helm of the show. Way back when, I was about 18 years old, I thought animal prints had a cheap look to it, and often thought of them as too edgy for my –then– conventional taste. Fast forward to some  years ago, probably around the time Kate Moss established leopard print as a new neutral, I was already a converted.

They go with absolutely everything, from a formal to a casual look, and these are my main styling tips to wear it right:

• Leopard prints make a great statement when paired with monochromatic colors such as red, yellow, purple, white.
• Leopard prints also get enhanced when accessorized with gold jewelry.
• They can be the star of the show when styled with all black outfits.
• If you find it too wild for your style to wear an entire piece of garment, get them in small accessories, such a purse, scarf or shoes, they will uplift any outfit!
• Start small, even a bracelet will do, and then start getting bigger accessories, until you are ready to throw a skirt, shirt…you might even get wild enough to get a coat!
• Once you feel comfortable with the print, you are ready to mix and match it with other patterns, such as tartan plaid, houndstooth, checks and stripes.

Hola corazones, ha pasado algo de tiempo desde que escribí la última vez, pero en verano me fracturé el dedo medio y sufrí  una cortada profunda en el índice, todo en la mano derecha y estuve inhabilitada para escribir. Pero ya estoy de regreso, y conmigo la última tendencia de este otoño 2016…el estampado más salvaje: ¡el de Leopardo!

Cuando tenía unos 18 anos, veía los estampados de animales, en especial el de leopardo y lo veía un tanto cutre, demasiado salvaje para mi gusto tanto convencional de la época, años más tarde y luego de que Kate Moss lo catapultara como el nuevo “neutro” de su armario, pues yo soy una amante del estampado.

Este otoño estarán en tendencia los estampados de animales salvajes en general, pero a la palestra estará el de leopardo. Para ello les doy los siguientes tips para cómo llevarlo de lujo:

• Los estampados de leopardo hacen un look ganador cuando se combinan con colores monocromáticos como el amarillo, rojo, morado y blanco.
• Acentúalo con accesorios dorados.
• Usa un abrigo o estola de leopardo con un outfit todo negro o todo blanco.
• Si te sientes intimidada usando una pieza entera de estampado de leopardo, hazlo el protagonista utilizando su estampado en accesorios más pequeños como una cartera, una bufanda o en zapatos, realzarán cualquier outfit a otro nivel!
• Empieza por algo pequeño como un brazalete, hasta que llegues a usar una camisa o falda.
• Luego que te sientas a gusto y comida con el estampado de leopardo, pues atrévete y combínalo con otros estampados como el vichy, rayas, lunares, tartán y pata de gallo, entre otros.
